Volkswagen Polo R at Volkswagen Polo R Set For 2013 Geneva Debut

The production version of the new Volkswagen Polo R, revealed before as a WRC concept (pictured above), will be unveiled at the next Geneva Motor Show. The 225-horsepower micro hot hatch will be launched just as Volkswagen starts its World Rally Championship adventure next year.

The engine powering the Polo R is the same exact 2.0 liter four-cylinder Turbo found in the Mk6 Golf GTI. Given the fact that the Polo is lighter and nimbler, it should be quite fast, and fun. It could be something like the original Golf GTI.

The car will be offered with a limited-slip front differential which can make the most of that output for a 0 to 60mph sprint time of 6 seconds and top speed of 150mph. You wouldn’t wanna go faster in a car that is the size of a shoe.

Visually, the car will be identical to what you see above, although without the graphics.
