In this episode of Ignition show Carlos Lago gets behind the wheel of the highly anticipated a manual BMW M5 F10. And if you are one of those guys who worship M/T, you may not like his verdict. Carlos says the manual M5 is fun, but in a dumb kind of way. It doesn’t match the character of that 560 horsepower engine as well as a dual-clutch. It is slower to respond and it can’t make the most of the engine’s output.

So logically it doesn’t make sense to get the manual. But if you want to be logical you should get the diesel 535d, not the M5. Manual gearbox involves you in the process of driving the car more, it gives you more control. You have to work harder behind the wheel to get the best out of it, but that’s where all the fun is.  Guess we’re still in the manual camp.
