BMW is about to reveal the new 4 Series. Well, that is usually what happens when a whole set of official pictures of a new model leak. Here’s out first uninterrupted look at the new BMW 4 Series, which is of course the replacement for the 3 Series Coupe and Convertible.

The 3 Series, as we have explained before, will include the four-door models. So the 3 Series family will include the sedan, the touring and the upcoming gran touring version. The sporty coupe and convertible models will be classified under the new 4 Series category. So the next M3 sedan will be called an M3, while the coupe version will be referred to as the M4.

We should point out these pictures here are the concept version of the 4er, which will make its debut at the Detroit Motor Show in January next year. But apart from a few details such as the fancy bumpers, tailpipes, and interior trimming, this is the real thing, the actual 4 Series Coupe.

The way the 4 Series looks has already sparked controversy on the Internet. The majority of people doesn’t seem to like its thick unibrow, and its rather bland rear end. But as always BMW is not interested in what people think of their design!
