Sport exhaust manufacturer Milltek Sport has come up with a new system for the Vauxhall Astra VXR (Opel Astra OPC) that gives the car a hotter soundtrack and an extra 10bhp. Hand-finished entirely from non-magnetic stainless steel in Derbyshire, England, this system is designed to deliver its goods both under load and whilst cruising at speed.
It is based around a 76mm mandrel-bent construction and features a ‘Euro 5’ spec 200-cell sports catalyst. It replaces the standard downpipe, and allows the turbo two spool up some 200rpm quicker, which enhances the throttle response and acceleration.
The system comes with a choice of either resonated or non-resonated centre sections that then mate to a transverse backbox, and cat back options are also available. Milltek uses the OEM tailpipes for this setup for a perfect factory-fit finish.
Prices start from £627.73+VAT for the Non-Res ‘Cat-back’ system, rising to £1528.78+VAT for the full turbo-back resonator system.
