Maybe Alfa Romeo should fire its design team and hire the students of IED Torino, the European Design Institute. After penning the Gloria concept, which is said to be the base for the new Alfa Giulia, they’ve come up with this, the imaginary Alfa 6C.

This is just a design study, but it looks pretty damn cool from almost every angle. The designer says the 6C is a rival for the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. It has the same sort of size and profile as the Corvette, but being Italian, it has much drama, and style, and lust.

Being a Corvette-rival, the Alfa 6C is a front-engined, preferably a V8, rear-wheel-drive GT car. Alfa’s own attempt at making such a car, the 8C Competizione, resulted in an incredibly pretty car that was actually shocking to drive. If that’s any indication, the 6C should be even worse to drive, because it is much prettier than the 8C.
