Japanese tuner Vitt Performance has come up with a styling kit for the Mercedes SL type R231, and it is by far and away the best we’ve seen for this car. Granted, not many big time tuners have revealed their SL kits yet, but Vitt’s package looks pretty good.

Dubbed Squalo, this body kit kind of fixes the errors Mercedes designers have made and gives it a cool sporty look. It consists of a new front bumper with large air intakes and LED lights, complete with wide front fenders. The front wings are connected to the wide rear fenders via new chunky side skirts. There is also a new rear bumper that matches the design of the front bumper, and a rear spoiler.

Other parts of the package include after market wheels, smoked lights, and classic AMG tailpipes connected to a new sport exhaust system.

The R231 SL is not a pretty car, granted, but we have to say it looks kinda cool when widened!
