Range Rover is putting a lot of effort into making teaser videos and stuff for the new RR Sport, but as it turns out they are not very good with this embargo business. They left the car undisguised and unattended at a window tinting garage, apparently, for a few minutes and that was enough for the Internet to spill the beans.
So this is the new Range Rover Sport, and, well, we have to say it doesn’t look even half as cool as the car it is going to replace. That is odd, because it gets a lot of styling cues from the Evoque, which is a handsome brute, but somehow it doesn’t look right. Just like the new-generation Range Rover, the new head and tail lights are among the weakest points of the Sport’s design.
Range Rover Sport slots between the Evoque and the Vogue, and is designed to better on the road than off it. It can still cut it when the going gets rough, but the suspension, wheels and tires are all tuned for the street. Before this the only reason you’d buy the Sport over the normal Range Rover was the looks and the image. We’re not sure about that now…
The 2014 Range Rover Sport will make its debut at the upcoming New York Auto Show.
