To give us an idea of what their new twin-turbocharged Ferrari 458 Italia is capable of, Hennessey Performance released a short video of the car doing on a casual 0 to 150 mph acceleration run. As you’d expect from a 700 horsepower Ferrari, it doesn’t take very long.

What Hennessey does to the 458’s 4.5 liter V8 is of course fit a twin turbo kit. But mods go further than that, and depends on how much money you are willing to spend. The base HPE700 kit gives you an extra 100 horsepower or so over the standard output of the car, but you can go up from there.

Hennessey does offer a racing exhaust system for example, which costs 4 grand, but includes Fabspeed 200 cell sportcats that save 11 lbs/5 kg over the stock catalytic converters and result in a 25 horsepower gain, and improve the soundtrack of the engine. You can also go for sport headers ($4.7 K). Ferrari 458’s engine can make well over a 1000 horsepower with a proper twin-turbo kit.
