The new version of Mercedes S63 AMG based on the W222 model is gearing up for its launch in the British market this fall, as the car maker confirms the specs and pricing of it for the Blighty. This 585 horsepower German super saloon will start at £119,565.
Now, that is a mighty price. But Mercedes argues that due to the added power, enhanced performance, and the number of standard features on this car, it actually represents more than £8,400 of added value for the customer than the outgoing model.
The S63 comes fully-loaded with every imaginable luxury amenities, but still, there are a couple of pricey option by which you can make it look and feel a bit more special.
As standard, the 2014 Mercedes S63 comes with stuff that are usually reserved for high-end tuners, such as 19” AMG 10-spoke alloy wheels, high-performance Composite Brakes, AMG sport suspension, Magic Body Control, Driving Assistance Package, Front Seat Comfort Package, Panoramic sunroof, Keyless Go Package, the mighty Burmester Surround Sound System with Six-Disc changer, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and Ambient Lighting.
These are of course in addition to all the basic luxury and convenience features every S-Class is blessed with. Options from the AMG Performance Studio include the Drivers Package (£2,760) which derestricts the top speed to 186 mph and includes an AMG ‘Power and Passion’ driving event, the AMG Exterior Carbon Package (£5,000), and Ceramic Brakes (£7,090).
Performance-wise, the new Mercedes S63 AMG can accelerate from rest to 62 mph in just 4.4 seconds. It returns 27 mpg on the combined cycle and emissions of 237 g/km.
