MG Crossover 0 600x304 at Production MG Crossover Revealed in Leaked Patents

Chinese-owned British brand MG is apparently gearing up for the launch of their first crossover vehicle. The car was exposed by these leaked patent images, showing a car fairly similar in shape and size to the CS Concept, revealed earlier this year. The MG Crossover will make its official debut at the next Beijing Motor Show.

The styling of the this as yet unnamed crossover in typical MG, what with the signature grille and headlights found on all their products, fancy taillights, and the unique profile of the car. Being a crossover, of course, means it’s built on a hatchback platform, the MG5 probably, and then jacked up and fitted with some big wheels.

Engine-wise, the MG Crossover will get the firm’s latest turbocharged units, with the entry-level model getting 135 horsepower and the range-topping something like 200. The car will be four-wheel-drive, and you will have the choice between a manual and an automatic transmission.

The new MG Crossover will first launch in the Chinese market in fall 2014, and will then reaches UK and Europe. The car can be considered as a rival for cars like the Dacia Duster or Ford Ecosport.
