Audi Allroad Shooting Brake Debuts in Detroit: NAIAS 2014

Audi Allroad Shooting Brake Live 0 600x400 at Audi Allroad Shooting Brake Debuts in Detroit: NAIAS 2014

Audi’s lineup for this year’s Detroit Motor Show included a new concept model called the Allroad Shooting Brake. And it is one of the most important cars of the 2014 NAIAS, as it previews the next generation Audi TT in a shooting brake body shape. The concept made its show debut along with the 2015 A8 and S8 models.

This, of course, doesn’t mean that the next Audi TT is going to be a crossover. But a shooting brake version might be on the table for the future. The Coupe and Convertible TT are set for debut at the next Geneva Motor Show in March, boasting a new face that is very similar to what you see here, and a profile that is modeled on the R8’s body.

Audi Allroad Shooting Brake is powered by an ultra-sophisticated e-tron hybrid powertrain. It has a 2.0 TFSI petrol engine at its core, with to electric motors on the front and rear axle. Together they make 300 kW (408 hp) of system power and a system torque of 650 Nm (479.42 lb-ft). As a result, the car weighs nearly 1,600 kg. But thanks to the efficiency of this system it still averages an astonishing 1.9 liters of fuel per 100 km (123.80 mpg).
