For some reason Scion thought that associating the FR-S sports car with the geek community is going to be good for its image. They announced the “Epic” social media contest, asking fans to submit epic videos and pictures of the FR-S in action. The winner, says Scion very enthusiastically, will be sent to Comic-Con.  

If you are a Comic fan and are intrigued by the Scion FR-S epic contest, you are to submit the photos and video (slow-motion or normal speed) on Twitter or Instagram, tag it @Scion and include the hashtag #EPICFRS as part of the post. The videos must not be longer than 15 seconds.

Winners will be judged on unique use, creativity, positive representation of Scion and clever use of the brand. The grand prize winner will receive two round-trip tickets and accommodations in San Diego to attend Comic-Con International.

This is nice, but it would be a lot better if Scion would come up with something more on the line with the character of the FR-S. Track day tickets, or a lesson or two in the art of drifting, would attract the right crowd to the FR-S contest.
