Continuing with their habit of upgrading the looks of the FR-S without paying one damn bit of attention to its needs for additional power, Scion has released a new version of the sports car for 2016. The new Scion FR-S Release Series 2.0 is quite possibly the most luxurious version of this car yet.
And of course it costs rather luxuriously, as well. The 2016 Scion FR-S Release Series 2.0 is MSRP’d at $29,510 for the manual transmission and $30,610 for the automatic transmission, and you have to pay another $795 for destination and handling charge. So let’s see what you get for your cash.
As mentioned, the engine remains in its standard 197bhp form, so there is nothing to look forward to there. But you do get a Lunar Storm paint and 17-inch forged alloy wheels, plus a unique aero kit including spoilers on both the front lip and trunk. Then you move inside and you will happy to find to see the old fashioned cabin is wrapped in black Alcantara and leather with camel-colored accents on the seats, steering wheel, shift knob, armrests, and upper door trim, garnished with Camel accent stitching.
Boasting Smart key with push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control and HID headlamps with LED daylight running lamps, 2016 Scion FR-S Release Series 2.0 is limited to just 1,000 units.
