Mercedes-AMG Performance Magazine web special has revealed new teaser pictures and fresh details about the new AMG GT sports car. Set to be revealed later this year and go on sale in mid 2015, the Mercedes AMG GT is shown here in its famous Poison Green camo disguise.
According to the magazine, the Mercedes AMG GT is less muscle car and more sports car, so in that sense it is the opposite of its big brother, the SLS. The car features an advanced aluminum space frame that makes it true lightweight.
The specs of the engine is yet to be released, but its internal code has been revealed as M178, which means it is completely new and substantially different than the current M157 5.5 liter biturbo V8. The word is the new engine is a 4.0 liter with close to 500 horsepower.
Mercedes also appears very confident of the design they have come up with for the AMG GT (codenamed C190) and likes to remind us how beautiful it is every chance they get. Apparently, the car is especially fine “around the back.”
