As expected, Heico Sportiv announced they will soon be launching a thorough upgrade program for the new 2015 Volvo XC90. The semi-in-house tuner always have great ideas to make Volvo cars more exciting, and it seems they’ve got their work cut out with the SUV.

Due to its size and intended role as a safe and comfy family SUV, there is only so much a tuner can do to upgrade the Volvo XC90 and make it sporty. What Heico is proposing includes an aero kit, lowered suspension, larger wheels and brakes, and hopefully some form of performance upgrade. You can also expect special paint jobs, interior treatment, and lots of accessories.

The new Volvo XC90 has got some big shoes to fill, having replaced a car that’s been in production for over a decade and widely acknowledged as one of the very best family cars ever. But it is well prepared for the task, boasting a specious, family-friendly interior, a mind-boggling array of active and passive safety gear, and a range of efficient powertrains.

Volvo’s other partner, Polestar, might also be cooking something for the XC90. Here’s a rendering to show you what that might look like.
