British chip tuning expert BBR announced the launch exclusive new programs for the latest Mazda3 powered by the 2.0 liter SKYACTIV G engine. BBR Mazda3 gets two ‘Super 170’ and ‘Super 185’ upgrade kits, both of which are reasonably priced.

Let’s begin with BBR Mazda3 Super 170, a program in which the 2.0 liter engine gets the Starchip ECU software package with revised fuel and ignition calibration. It also eliminates the electronic throttle restriction, bringing the output of that motor up to 169.7 bhp with 163 lb.ft of torque. BBR Super 170 package is priced at £499.00 including installation.

The kit that you really want though is the BBR Mazda3 Super 180. That one boasts not just the software upgrade mentioned above, but also a stainless steel exhaust manifold. The system features a 4-2-1 configuration to enhance engine flexibility whilst maximising the spread of torque. Super 185 also includes a cold air induction system featuring a K&N high flow filter. All of this means the 2.0 liter SKYACTIV engine can now produce 185 bhp and 173 lb.ft of torque. As you would expect, this one is a bit pricier at £1795 fitted. You can eliminate the cold air intake system though, which will save you about 300 quid.

Other upgrades available from BBR for Mazda3 include a high-flow sport exhaust system (£495), stainless steel rear silencer with branded tailpipes (£395), BBR Sport lowering springs (£467 installed), and Koni adjustable dampers (£877 installed).
