IAA 2015: Mansory G63 Gronos Black Edition

Mansory G63 Gronos Black Edition 0 600x382 at IAA 2015: Mansory G63 Gronos Black Edition

Over the years we have seen the unique Mansory G63 Gronos in various guises. Sometime it shows up wearing desert camo, other times dressed as a bumblebee. Now, at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, we get a Black Edition version of this monster which is by the far the coolest yet.

Of course, not everybody likes what Mansory has done to the G-Wagen’s face in this treatment, what with the new grille and headlight bezel, and the hood scoop, but the car has some redeeming features. The carbon fiber fender flares aren’t half bad, and neither are those fog lamps on the roof. And as for those 22 inches XXL wheels, they look superb.

But if you still don’t like Mansory G63 Gronos Black Edition let us introduce you to this car’s party piece which could  change your mind. It’s a heavily tuned AMG V8 engine with new pistons, connecting rods, big end bearings, crankshaft, crank, cylinder head and many other parts including a stainless steel exhaust system. It belts out 840 horsepower. That kind of horsepower can make a Daihatsu look interesting, let alone a luxury Mercedes SUV.

Sweetening the deal even further, Mansory G63 Gronos Black Edition comes with a bespoke interior featuring a new carbon fiber dashboard and steering wheel and lavish two-tone leather upholstery.
