Hamann BMW M2 preview 600x310 at Hamann BMW M2 in the Works

German tuner Hamann has already started working on the new BMW M2 on the evidence of this rendering they have released, showcasing the sports car with a set of their special Evo rims and a new paint job. It’s going to be a while before we see the real Hamann BMW M2. But wheels are in motion.

It is Hamann’s habit that they start out modifying a car by having it fitted with a wide variety of their designer wheels and maybe fiddle with the suspension a bit. Then comes the body kit with all sort of goodies like front splitter, side skirts, rear spoiler and diffuser, and new tailpipes. After that you can expect a performance upgrade or two, and maybe some interior mods to make things look fresh inside the cabin.

What we like to see on Hamann BMW M2, besides the wheels and suspension treatments previewed here, is a nice and elegant carbon fiber kit with parts that are not so big and in your face, they turn the car into a boy racer, and a performance kit with software and exhaust system, boosting the output of the engine from 365 to well over 400 horsepower. That would be the sweet spot for the M2, both visually and mechanically.
