We’ve been getting teased for a long time about the all-new Volvo S90, and now it’s finally ready and the car maker has dropped a huge gallery, like they too were weary of all the wait. At any rate, here’s Volvo’s new luxury saloon, boasting a Scandinavian-cool looks and a host of new technologies.

The full details of 2017 Volvo S90 are yet to be released as the world premiere is scheduled for 2016 NAIAS Detroit Motor Show in January. For now they can tell us that the S90 comes with some really advanced technologies such as a semi-autonomous drive feature called Pilot Assist.

The system eliminates the need for following another car which has always been a hinderance to autonomous driving, and it gives gentle steering inputs to keep the car properly aligned within lane markings up to motorway speeds of around 130 km/h. Other techie features you might like include cutting-edge safety equipment and cloud-based apps and services. It gets something called City Safety – large animal detection – which can detect large animals such as elk, horses or moose, night or day. That’s a particularly Swedish feature.

As for the engines, 2017 Volvo S90 will launch with a clean and powerful T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid. Depending on the market, you’ll probably get other choices like the T6 Drive-e. Stay tuned for more info on the car over the coming weeks.
