BMW i8 customers in Abu Dhabi have been enjoying a bevy of vibrant ‘Individual’ colors since the car was first launched. But in Europe, and especially the UK, the German automaker only offered a few dull and uninteresting paint works. Well, that’s about to change.

It seems then BMW used those far off markets as a sort of test bed for BMW i8 Individual colors and now that they are certain they work, they are bringing it over here. The list of available shades is pretty impressive and includes non-metallic, metallic or Xirallic finishes: Java Green, Speed Yellow, Solar Orange, Twilight Purple Pearl, Frozen Grey, Frozen Black, San Marino Blue and Grigio Telesto Pearl.

Among these the ones with the Xirallic finish could be the most popular since it features mica or aluminium flakes in it for a “scintilating” look. What’s more, BMW is offering new matt ‘frozen’ finishes for the i8 as well as new Black W-Spoke alloy wheels. The “i8 BMW Individual Exterior Paint Programme” as it’s called is now available to order starting from a whopping £5,495.
