To really appreciate how special Brabus Maybach Rocket 900 really is, one has to dissect the car and trace its roots. It began life as a W222 S-Class, which was then turned into a Maybach, then upgraded by Brabus, and finally given a 900-hp engine and christened the Rocket. Now it is the world’s ultimate luxury super sedan and costs more than half a million dollars.

And yet to an uninterested eye it is the same as a S350 diesel!

We don’t mean to make the owner of this Brabus Maybach Rocket 900, who’s apparently a Saudi Prince who travels everywhere with his favorite cars – you can see his LaFerrari in the footage – feel bad, but you have to be a monumental gearhead to notice this is a Maybach, a Brabus, and a Rocket.

That is why if we had half a million dollars to spend on a luxury super saloon we’d buy a Rolls-Royce Phantom. That car doesn’t have 900 horsepower or an exhaust note like that of the Pagani Huayra. But at least nobody will ever mistake it for a Geneva taxi.
