Kia GT Gets a Bunch of New Teasers

Kia GT new teasers 0 600x263 at Kia GT Gets a Bunch of New Teasers

With only four days to go until the official unveiling of Kia’s hot new sports car, currently known as Kia GT, the Korean car maker is putting its last effort into creating more hype for the car. The teasers are as pointless and uninformative as ever, but we have to say they do manage to get us all revved up to see this thing in person.

Now that’s kind of not good, because Kia GT is anything less than what these teasers promise – which is a lot – then people are going to be disappointed not just with this model but Kia itself. You have to take into account that Kia has never built a sports car before and as for the design, well, this past few years they seem to have been focusing their talent and energy on sedans and SUVs, which means models like the Forte (Cerato) Koup which had a fantastic design in its first-gen model ended up looking pretty terrible in the second.

The Kia GT is the spiritual successor to the Forte Koup, but with this car the money seems to have been spent more on the dynamics than everything else. As the videos above clearly shows the Koreans went to the Nurburgring to develop their sports car because they know that a lot hinges on the success of this model. In fact Peter Schreyer, President & Chief Design Officer, goes as far as saying: “This new vehicle is going to fundamentally change the global image of Kia. It will revolutionize the way people think about the brand and propel us upwards into a different era. You cannot believe how excited I am about this car.”
