Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The Buckle Up Safe Kids Campaign Interactive Roadshow will move to the new Dubai Mall on the 23rd of November, where parents and caretakers will be able to receive advice on child passenger safety from specially trained Chevrolet promoters until the end of the month.
To help to reinforce the message of the Buckle Up Safe Kids campaign, the public will be able to view live demonstrations on how to correctly install and buckle up child seats and obtain advice about their child’s safety on the road.
The Buckle Up Safe Kids mall displays have generated great interest since the launch of the campaign on November5th. Over 10,000 leaflets were distributed at the Roadshow’s previous stops at Ibn Battuta and BurJuman malls, and hundreds of parents and parents-to-be gathered at the stands to find out more about the all-important issue of child passenger safety, and how to prevent children from being injured in and around vehicles. `
“The objective of the Safe Kids Buckle Up programme is to raise awareness and understanding of the issues surrounding child passenger safety in the UAE, to prevent children from being injured and killed in and around vehicles, and this interactive roadshow has been very successful in getting the message across. It has been extremely encouraging to see parents actively expressing interest and concern over the issue of child passenger safety”, said Saada Hammad, PR & Communications Manager for General Motors – Middle East Operations.
The Dubai Mall management commented on Buckle Up Safe Kids’ presence in the new mall, saying “The Dubai Mall is proud to host the Buckle up Safe Kids Campaign Roadshow and, in this way, to contribute to education of parents across the UAE about the all-important issue of keeping our children safe on the road”
The Buckle Up Safe Kids Interactive Roadshow is part of the campaign’s plan to actively educate UAE drivers by reaching out to them directly. Following its first Mall Activation Phase, it will proceed to schools and hospitals around Dubai with the aim to further spread the word about child safety on the road.
The Buckle Up Safe Kids Campaign was launched in the UAE earlier this month by Chevrolet/General Motors and Safe Kids Worldwide with the support of UAE National Transport Authority and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). It promotes the proper restraint of children in cars through specially designed child seats with the aim to prevent children from being injured or killed on the road.
A major advertising campaign, built around the theme “If you really want to hold onto them, let them go and strap them in”, is now also taking place on the UAE’s television screens, newspaper and magazine pages, in on-line media and at outdoor sites.
This new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative is part of General Motors and Chevrolets’ commitment towards the local community, which received them over 70 years ago.
