Development of new VW Beetle for 2011 is well underway and as CAR magazine reports the original car is going to spawn some variants. According to that, there will be a tiny model based on VW UP! Concept which will be classiedfi in Smart segment, and a bigger version based on Golf which is a proper Beetle. The car will also look close to  Ragster Concept you see above.

Which is good news, because it means that driving a Beetle will be less embarrassing for men than before. Although a man would still look very very gay behind the wheel of such car! However the smaller Beetle which as mentioned above is spawned by UP! will look like a mix of the two, and as worldcarfans shows in a rendering speculation below ( Copyrighted by Larson) it would look like a Fiat 500, a bit more hideous!
