Audi will premier a new class at NAIAS in Detroit next month. Called A7, it is a CLS rivaling four-door coupe and it will slot between A6 and A8 sizewise. The car is expected to hit the market in late 2009. Also it will spawn a convertible variant, which might come with folding hard top. Since Mercedes started this new form of design with CLS, every manufacturer wanted to try such model but none of them were a match to the original design of CLS and now it’s Audi’s turn and they set a target of delivering 40,000 units of A7 every year, however works on the new generation CLS is very well underway and it has already secured a unique market for itself as the leader of this segment.
