Audi released pictures and details of the new 2009 Allroad Quattro before its official debut at Geneva Motorshow. This is a response to the recent release of Saab 9-3X which also debuts at Geneva. Like the Saab, the Audi Allroad is not a full SUV, it’s more of a jacked up estate car based on the Audi A4 Avant with added outdoorsy stuffs.
With the new model you get a new grille, the on trend daytime LED lights, stainless steel underbody protection and bigger wheels, and of course Allroad’s flared wheelarches! As for the inside you get the new MMI system ( MultiMedia Interface) Bang&Olufsen audio system and special fabric trim plus some outdoor equippments like the reversible liner in the boot.
Audi Allroad Quattro comes with three choice of engines. A 211hp 2.0 liter petrol, and two diesels including a 170hp 2.0 liter and a 240hp 3.0 liter. The smaller diesel is fitted with a six-speed manual but other engines can be had with seven-speed S-tronic gearbox. Needless to say all cars have the Quattro system as standard. The suspension is also upgraded and can raise the height of the car for 180mm. An off-road detection system is integrated and will automatically adjust the ESP settings when the car hits rough ground.
2009 Audi Allroad Quattro goes on sale in May this year starting from 37,100 Euros.
