Some days before it’s official debut at Seoul Motor show a sneak preview of the this new Kia sedan, called VG, surfaced which was a bit of a surprise, Because it was too good looking to be a Kia! Now the Korean firm is proudly presenting the VG KND5…
The car might look good but it has the worst name I’ve ever heard for a car! Hope they choose a better name for the production version. And they will be producing it actually, it is also U.S bound.
The VG concept is a car tailored in almost the same specs as its Japanese rivals like Honda Accord, but Kia’s winning card is the contemporary, more sporty design. Although if you concentrate really hard, you realize that it’s a mix copy of some European ones, but for Asian car makers it’s not a drawback!
VG measures at 4.94 x 1.85 x 1.47, the perfect size for a mid-range family saloon. It uses a 3.5 liter V6 Lambda engine with 275 hp, then again bang on choice for such car. However don’t be fool by those big wheels and interior garnish, none of them will make it into production because of the cost. It’s a Kia afterall, and it has to be very affordable. In fact a Kia sedan must be cheaper than a Hyundai equivalent, let alone Japanese rivals, in order to get a good market share.
The Kia VG KND5 is a focused car. It knows what it wants to be and has all the ingriedients it needs to become a hit. Such cars have always been referred to as good cars!
