Next generation of the very popular Korean sedan Hyundai Sonata will make its world debut next year at Detroit Motor Show and will go on sale in summer 2010. CEO of Hyundai Motor America, John Krafcik confirms this report and points out that the new Sonata will be ‘so bold’. Based on what we know from recent spyshots, 2011 Sonata will feature a four-door coupe styling, which sounds a bit too ambitious for a Hyundai!

It’s actually a very clever move by Hyundai, because a striking design will set the Sonata apart from its always conservative rivals Toyota Camry and Honda Accord and also improves the credibility of the Hyundai’s badge.

New generation Sonata will be available with four and six cylinder options just like the current model, but a new hybrid version will follow a year after its market launch. Hyundai’s Hybrid Blue Drive is consisting of a 2.4 liter petrol unit combined with a 30 KW electric motor delivering a total 230hp.

As you know Hyundai Sonata has become very popular in different markets around the world because if offers good value for money, now the question is will the new bold and beautiful Sonata remain an affordable family car or will it get a price hike as tremendous as its new looks?!
