According to BMW M-Divisoin’s Boss, Dr. Kay Segler, there is a possibility that the race-prepd edition of the BMW M3, called GT4 goes into production in very limited numbers, as a track-day car. It’s not 100 percent confirmed yet but we can’t see why shouldn’t BMW make this car. M3 GT4 has made its debut during this year’s 24 hours of Nurburgring and features racing stuffs like roll cage, racing seats and tweaked engine.
Dr.Segler has also commented on rumors about a diesel-powered engine by the M-Division. He denies such plan as it makes no sense unless the U.S. extends use of diesel. After all American market still plays a major role in the auto world and manufacturers have to arrange their plans based on its requirements.
Mr. Segler also praises BMW’s M-sport line accessories, as a new customization program which is not motorsports-centric as the M lineup, for customers who don’t really need what M-Power has to offer.
