The new re-designed Volvo C30 will be available from 2010 with the exclusive R-design package. According to Volvo about 80 percent of all C30 customers buy the R-design version! So there must be something special about it! The upgrades for the 2010 model are not just visual, it comes with Volvo’s Sport Chassis as standard.

The Sports Chassis treatment has one goal and that’s better driving experience. So lots of adjustments were needed and apparently Volvo has done them all! The C30 R is 10 mm lower than the regular model. The steering is more precise owing to the installation of stiffer bushings and the steering ratio is lower, giving 10 percent faster response to steering wheel input. Spring stiffness has been increased by 30 percent in order to increase the car’s poise in enthusiastic driving, whilst the dampers, too, are stiffer and now build up pressure more quickly. The roll stabilizers are also stiffer to reduce any body roll when cornering.

The C30 R-design is also fitted with some distinguishing visual factors, most imposing of which is the new body kit, which makes the car look lower and wider and sportier. It also ha five spoke sport wheels and comes with full black upholstery for the interior. Sporty isn’t it?!
