The brand new Mercedes SLS AMG has just made its debut at the IAA and is at least a year away from markets, nevertheless Lorinser has already revealed their thoughts for modifying the retro classic supercar. Of course they point out that both sketches shown here are just design studies and might not ever get into production (or it might, they haven’t decided yet!) but it’s clear that Lorinser wants to be the first company to put their badge on the SLS.
The first model you see above, as Lorinser says, pays homage to the original racing 300 SL Gullwing, but features modern components like carbon fiber hood, revised front apron with Lorinser grille and new front spoiler all made of carbon, and sporty side sills plus retro style wire rims.
The other model you see below is a lighter package which only includes front spoiler lip and modified side sills. There are also the same wire wheels here. You have say with retro style cars like this, it’s a hard job to modify the design without ruining the whole car. Specially a car as perfect as the SLS AMG.
Lorinser does not mention any performance upgrade for the car’s 571 hp V8 for the time being.
