2010 Mercedes E-class Estate pricing and options list

As one of the best station wagons in the market, the new Mercedes Benz E-class Estate has very ambitious goals to achieve, and reviewing its specs and options that the company has released, it seems that it has all the bases covered. With its extensive range of petrol and diesel engines from the clean BlueEFFICIENCY to the monstrous E63 AMG, this car can satisfy everyone’s needs. Specs and options:

Cornering lights: this function of the bi-xenon headlamps and the Intelligent Light System provides more safety on junctions and when driving slowly on tight bends. Optional (standard for AVANTGARDE version)
ADAPTIVE BRAKE: this Mercedes brake system offers assistance functions, such as a HOLD function and Hill Start Assist, for greater safety and comfort. Standard
Adaptive front airbags: the front airbags deploy in two stages, depending on accident severity. Standard
Adaptive belt force limiter: the system detects the size of the passenger occupying the rear seat, based on the length of the seat belt strap which is pulled out, and adjusts the degree of protection accordingly. Optional
Adaptive Main Beam Assist: this system adjusts the range of the headlamps in accordance with the distance to oncoming vehicles/vehicles travelling ahead. Optional
Adaptive brake lights: flashing brake lights warn vehicles behind in an emergency braking situation. Standard
AIRMATIC: the air suspension works together with an electronically controlled damping system. Optional, standard in the E 500
Active multicontour seats: depending on the steering angle, lateral acceleration and speed, the inflation pressure and volume of the air chambers in the side bolsters of the seat backrests are varied to give the driver and front passenger even better lateral support. The seats also have comfort head restraints and a massage function. Optional

Active Light System: the Intelligent Light System’s bi-xenon headlamps follow the driver’s steering movements. Optional (standard for AVANTGARDE version)
Active Bonnet: in the event of an accident, the rear of the bonnet is raised by 50 millimetres in order to reduce the risk of injury to pedestrians. Standard
Ambient lighting: when driving at night, optical fibres behind the trim on the dashboard and door panels and lights in the footwells provide a pleasant lighting atmosphere in the interior. Standard in on the ELEGANCE and AVANTGARDE models
ATTENTION ASSIST: this Mercedes system detects driver drowsiness and gives a warning. Standard
Motorway mode: from 90 km/h the entire width of the carriageway is illuminated, improving the driver’s range of vision by around 50 metres. Optional (standard for AVANTGARDE version)
Bi-xenon headlamps: gas-discharge lamps for low and main beam improve safety at night. Optional (standard for AVANTGARDE version)
Bluetooth interface: the mobile phone is wirelessly linked to the hands-free system. Standard
Brake Assist PLUS: this system uses radar sensors to recognise an impending rear-end collision, calculates the necessary degree of braking assistance and makes it available immediately when the driver presses the brake pedal. Optional as part of DISTRONIC PLUS
COMAND APS: the navigation data are stored on a hard disc. Further functions include the MUSIC REGISTER and voice control. Optional
Controller: the principal control for the infotainment system is mounted on the transmission tunnel. Standard

Digital radio: a special DAB tuner Digital Audio Broadcasting) and additional aerials allow the reception of digital radio broadcasts. Optional in conjunction with Audio 50 APS and COMAND APS
DIRECT SELECT: seven-speed automatic transmission operated electronically using a lever on the steering column. Standard in the V6/V8 models
Direct-Steer: a variable steering rack ratio based on the steering angle allows more agile handling and provides more comfort when parking and manoeuvring at slow speed. Optional standard in the V6/V8 models
DISTRONIC PLUS: this radar-based proximity control system automatically maintains the E-Class Estate at a set distance from the vehicle in front, braking it to a standstill if necessary and accelerating when the gap ahead is sufficiently large. If the distance to the vehicle ahead decreases too quickly, the system gives the driver visual and audible warnings. Optional
EASY-PACK rear sill protector: removable load sill protection In conjunction with optional EASY-PACK load-securing kit
EASY-PACK folding load compartment floor: the load compartment floor can be folded up and arranged into different positions, allowing access to an additional compartment in the load area. In the case of the ELEGANCE and AVANTAGARDE models, as well as in conjunction with the optional EASY-PACK load-securing kit, the second load level is subdivided into additional compartments. Standard
EASY-PACK load-securing kit: aluminium rails, load-securing points, a telescopic rod and lashing belts allow separation of the load compartment and secure stowage of luggage. Optional
EASY-PACK tailgate: the tailgate is operated electromechanically, making loading and unloading significantly easier. Standard
EASY-PACK folding box: the folding box is located under the folding load compartment floor. Standard
EASY-PACK load compartment cover: this cover, which protects against the sun and provides privacy, is automatically raised on opening the tailgate and is then lowered back into position on closing the tailgate. Standard
ECO start/stop function: In order to reduce fuel consumption, the engine switches off automatically when idling and restarts automatically when the driver operates the clutch. Standard in the E 200 with manual transmission
Enhanced foglamps: This function of the Intelligent Light System pivots the offside headlamp outwards to illuminate the road verge more effectively. Optional (standard for AVANTGARDE version)
ESP®: This safety system is able to reduce the risk of skidding in bends, and warns of pressure loss in the tyres. Standard
ESP® vehicle/trailer stabilisation: this additional function detects dangerous oscillating movements of the trailer via the towing vehicle’s yaw rate signal. By applying the brakes to the individual wheels, the situation is automatically defused. Standard on equipment lines with trailer coupling
Headlamp Assist: a sensor on the windscreen automatically switches the headlamps on when darkness falls. Standard
Rear Seat Entertainment: the rear faces of the front seat head restraints feature 8-inch displays connected to a DVD player. Optional
Speed Limit Assist: a camera fitted inside the windscreen detects speed limit signs. The relevant limit is then displayed in the instrument cluster. Optional

Belt force limiters: this technology reduces the force exerted by the belt strap on the seat occupant during a crash. Standard for the front seats and the outer rear seats
Belt tensioners: any slack in the seat belt strap is instantly taken up during a crash to reduce the forward movement of the occupants caused by the impact. Standard for the front seats and the outer rear seats
Intelligent Light System: This innovative headlamp technology provides five lighting functions which are activated depending on the driving and weather conditions (also see Cornering lights, Country mode, Motorway mode, Active Light System and Enhanced foglamps). Optional (standard for AVANTGARDE version)
KEYLESS-GO: the doors and boot lid can be opened without a key. The engine is started at the touch of a button. Optional
Child seat recognition: A transponder system automatically recognises whether a rear-facing child seat is installed, and deactivates the front passenger airbag if this is the case. Optional
Kneebag: in the event of a crash, an additional airbag reduces the forward movement of the driver caused by the impact. Standard
THERMATIC automatic climate control: this improved system controls two temperature zones and offers numerous adjustments for individual passenger comfort. Cooling of the glove compartment as standard. Standard
THERMOTRONIC luxury automatic climate control: this system provides three-zone climate control, and allows individual climatisation modes to be set. Optional

Country mode: this function of the Intelligent Light System replaces the previous low-beam headlamps and provides broader and brighter illumination of the opposite road verge. Optional (standard for AVANTGARDE version)
LINGUATRONIC: the voice control system operates the radio, CD/DVD-player, CD/DVD-changer, navigation system and telephone. Optional; standard in conjunction with Audio 50 APS including 6-disc DVD changer and with COMAND APS
Radiator louvres: this newly developed feature allows the supply of cooling air to the engine to be regulated in accordance with the driving situation and thus improves the vehicle’s aerodynamics. Standard in the four-cylinder models and the E 350 CGI
Media Interface: this universal interface allows portable audio devices to be connected to and controlled by the infotainment system of the E-Class. Optional
Memory function: three memory settings are stored for both the driver’s and the front passenger seat. The settings for the steering wheel and exterior mirrors are also stored. Optional
Multifunction steering wheel: the radio, telephone, navigation system, display and other devices can be controlled from the steering wheel. Standard
Multicontour seats: inflatable air chambers enable the seat contours and seat cushion length to be adjusted to the individual occupant. Optional
Night View Assist PLUS: the display in the dashboard shows a realistic grey-scale image from an infrared camera that monitors the road ahead of the E-Class. Any pedestrians are additionally highlighted in the display. Optional

NECK-PRO head restraints: crash-responsive head restraints support the heads of the driver and front passenger at an early stage during a rear-end collision, reducing the risk of a whiplash injury. Standard
Self-levelling suspension: air springs on the rear axle automatically maintain the vehicle body its original level, even when fully loaded, thus retaining comfort and ground clearance. Standard
Panoramic sliding roof: a large glass surface extends from the windscreen to the rear window. The front section slides to the rear at the touch of a button. The roof closes automatically in the event of rain. Optional
Parking Guidance: ultrasonic sensors measure the length of parking spaces as the car drives past; the cockpit display provides a schematic representation of the recommended parking manoeuvre. Optional
PARKTRONIC: Ultrasonic sensors assist the driver when parking. Optional
PELVISBAG: airbag integrated into the seat side finishers, which can help to reduce the loads exerted in the pelvic area of the driver or front passenger in the event of a side impact. Standard
PRE-SAFE®: anticipatory safety measures are taken to protect the occupants if an accident risk is detected. Standard
PRE-SAFE® Brake: if there is imminent danger of a head-to-tail collision, this system brakes the E-Class automatically if the driver fails to react. Optional as part of DISTRONIC PLUS
Reversing camera: as soon as reverse gear is selected, the dashboard display shows the image from a camera covering the area immediately to the rear of the E-Class. Optional

Sidebags: these airbags reduce the risk of injury in a collision from the side. Standard for driver and front passenger; optional for the rear
7G-TRONIC seven-speed automatic transmission: the world’s only automatic car transmission with seven ratios is available with the V6 and V8 engines. Standard in the V6 and V8 models
Sound system: a multi-channel system with innovative digital technology, an output of 610 watts and 14 loudspeakers provides surround-sound for every seat. Optional
Lane Keeping Assist: a camera behind the windscreen recognises clear carriageway markings and gives a warning if the car unintentionally leaves its lane. Optional
Blind Spot Assist: this radar-based system warns the driver before a lane-change if it detects another vehicle in the exterior mirror’s blind spot. Optional
Fuel consumption display: a display in the instrument cluster shows the current fuel consumption (extrapolated into litres per 100 km) and tells the driver when to shift to a higher gear. Standard
Windowbags: like a curtain, these large airbags extend from the A to the C-pillar in a side impact. Standard
