BMW has developed a new racing edition of the Z4 roadster which is compatible with FIA GT3 regulations and can be ordered by private teams for 2010 season. Other series this car is qualified to race in include International GT Open and the ADAC GT Masters – as well as in 24-hour endurance races. BMW Z4 GT3 is powered by the M3/s V8 engine.
The four-liter V8 engine uses the same setup as the M3 GT2 racer and has 480 hp and is mated to a sequential, six-speed gearbox. It also comes with other racing features as standard, such as rims with locking and safety clips, as well as racing ABS and optional air conditioning.
Technical matters aside, we think that the Z4 race car would be quite a looker! You may place your order now, but it won’t reach you until the second quarter of 2010 and it’ll cost 298,000 Euro.
