Mercedes tuner VATH has come up with a new power package for the R171 SLK 55 AMG which also includes some unique visual modifications. They take the standard 5.5 V8, make it a 5.8 and add a compressor to it. The result is astonishing: 565 hp and 770 Nm of torque. This much power in such a small car turns it into a pocket rocket capable of doing 310 km/h.

Along with the capacity upgrade and the compressor, VATH also applies a number of changes to the engine including: sports pistons, sports distribution shafts, exhaust manifolds, catalysts of high-grade steel, sports exhaust silencers, polished cylinder heads, a sports air filter and a long-stroke crankshaft, and finally some ECU modifications.

For those who are really performance-minded, VATH also offers a fuel cooler system, and a locking differential. Mind you they’re not cheap! The engine package alone costs more than 30,000 Euros.

Because VATH is a professional tuner they also offer chassis tuning. The suspension is modified with sporty handling in mind so it can be lowered by 20 to 65 mm based on the condition, and it is also fitted with high-performance brake system with six-piston calipers and 378 mm discs.

VATH offer 19-inch wheels for the SLK 55 with tires size 235/35 and 275/30 (front-rear).

The tuner also tweaks the aerodynamics with a new carbon front spoiler lip and a new rear diffuser with extra large fins. There’s also a carbon fiber trim package for the interior.
