Rupert Stadler says that the current technologies – start & stop – are sufficient to achieve low emissions and consumption.
Shown in March at the latest edition of the Geneva Motor Show, the Audi A1 e-tron, the electric version of the new compact of the German constructor, should not see the ‘daylight’; it’s Rupert Stadler, chairman of the board of the German manufacturer that guarantees this.
For Rupert Stadler, versions of A1 with Stop & Start system – which shuts down and restarts the engine whenever the car is stos – and the regenerative braking system will be economic and clean enough. Moreover, according to Stadler, the platform used would be unable to receive the necessary components for the entire electrical system.
