G Power’s obsession for creating the world’s fastest sedan based on the BMW M5 continues as they break their own record! You see their M5 Hurricane RS set 367,4 km/h record earlier this year, but now comes the Hurricane RR and smashes the previous record by doing 372,1 km/h. While the RS has only 750 hp, The Hurricane RR packs no less than 800 hp.
The RR uses better ASA T1-316 superchargers for its V10 engine which provide 25 percent more compressed air. The inner workings of the 10-cylinder, four-valve engine are optimised by light, precisely balanced MAHLE high-performance forged pistons with lower compression and increased mechanical strength.
They say theoretically this engine is capable of over 900 hp, for for the RR it’s set at 800 hp / 588 kW, available between 7,500 and 8,000 rpm and peak of torque of 800 Nm at 5,000 rpm.
One other factor that helped G-Power achieving this record is Michelin high-performance Pilot Sport tires in the dimensions 255/35 ZR 19 at the front axle and 305/30 ZR 19 at the rear axle for this reason. For every day use the G-POWER HURRICANE RR runs on 20-inch Silverstone CLUBSPORT wheels with the dimensions 245/35 ZR 20 and 285/30 ZR 20 front and rear.
Just checkout the car’s performance number as they speak for themselves: 4.35 seconds from nought to 100 km/h, 9.5 seconds up to 200 km/h and 25,8 seconds up to 300 km/h.
The G-POWER “HIGHLINE” body kit on this car also plays a major role in terms of aerodynamics, but it’s not the prettiest kit made for the M5! Inside the car features a tachometer reading up to 400 km/h, clear-coated carbon-fiber panels for the dashboard, center console and door panels, plus an ergonomically shaped G-POWER sports steering wheel with especially perforated Kjerba Nappa leather.
