Lumma and their Russian partner Top Car waited till we get really close to Paris Motor Show where the new BMW M5 will be revealed, to drop this! The CLR500 RS2 is based on the BMW 5 Series and no matter what BMW will come up with, it cannot be as cool as this car. Lumma Design used to come up with stupid kits and horrible color, but now with some Russian wisdom involved, they got it just right.
The RS2 gets a carbon fiber hood, new front bumper, side skirts, wide rear fenders, carbon fiber rear trunk spoiler, a rear bumper with integrated rear diffuser and dark tail lights. While those carbon hood and trunk seem to be a bit too much, the design of the other parts are really good. Specially in this particular color it looks fabulous.
Inside the car you get more carbon fiber and a complete black leather package with hand stitching in contrasting color. Again, a great job has been done here.
Where it can’t be compared to the M5 though, is the power. The new M5 is said to have nearly 600 hp, but the power packages they offer for the car are not that strong. For the twin-charged straight six variants (535i) you will get 380 hp and the bigger 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8 of the 550i models won’t make more than 407 hp.
