Mercedes does not make a Black Series edition of the CL-Class, so tuner Anderson Germany decided to have a go and came up with this. It is based on the CL65 AMG and is called the Black Edition, probably to avoid conflicting with Mercedes over the Black Series brand. Since Anderson is not as good as AMG in engineering, the car is not as delicate to drive as a real Black Merc, even though it’s got 670 hp.
Also Anderson seems to have gotten a bit carried away with the whole Black thing! They’ve blacked out whatever they could. The body that features a modest aero kit comes with a heavy matte black paint job accompanied 22-inch gloss black wheels. They come on size 9×22 front and 10.5×22 rear with 275/25-22 and 295/25-22 Michelin tire.
The black theme continues inside as well but here it’s mixed with brown to create a more luxurious atmosphere. There’s a nice blend of black and brown leather package garnished with carbon fiber accents on the dashboard, rear view mirror, central console, steering wheel, door sills and frames. They also offer a top-notch multimedia system.
