Helicopter Crashes When Filming Autonomous Driverless Audi

No, unfortunately this is not a joke…

Audi as commissioned a helicopter to film its autonomous Audi TT while climbing Pikes Peak, and the human driven device crashed while the Audi TT, that was being driven by sensors and computers only, carried on. Four people that were on board the helicopter got seriously hurt.

The autonomous Audi is a Stanford’s University graduate students project named “Shelly” (as a tribute to Michelle Mouton) and partially funded by the Volkswagen group.

Let’s hope everyone in that helicopter recovers well soon and that this project just doesn’t come to a halt because of the accident.
