Further enhancing the appeal of the 2011 S60, Volvo released the R-Design version of the car. R-Design Volvos are in-house tuned models which always get very sporty bodykits and some extra equipments, as well as upgraded chassis and suspension. On the outside, the car’s styling is improved with a new grille painted in glossy piano black, colour-matched body components, details in matt special finish and a hexagonal pattern that is repeated both front and rear.

The R-Design S60 also features very sporty twin exhaust tailpipes and unique five-spoke 18-inch Diamond cut wheels. These are not very Volvoish, but such sporty models will help the brand to revamp its old image of being dull and boring.

Inside the car you get sport seats with new backrest and better support. The special leather/textile upholstery is available in a version trimmed in off-black and ceramic light, or in an all-black variant, both with contrasting stitching. The interior also features a special steering wheel, gear selector, sports pedals and floor-mats.

R-Design can be combined with a range of petrol and diesel engines, from an economical DRIVe version producing 115 horsepower to a high-performance turbo version with 304 horsepower. All the engines have been designed to meet high expectations on driving pleasure combined with competitive fuel consumption.

As one of the most exciting productions of Volvo ever, the S60 and its estate variant V60 will definitely have a bright future, and the R-Design versions will boost their success.
