A while ago BMW decided to launch its own set of after market kits for the X5 and X6, and they started with smaller markets like Japan. But now they announced the availability of the Performance Accessories kit in America as well. The package basically consists of aerodynamic components, aluminum pedals, special kidney grilles, and a new flat-bottom Sport steering wheel.

In terms of aerodynamic bits, the X5 gets redesigned front and rear bumper covers and side skirts, is specifically sculpted to reduce aerodynamic drag and lift at high speeds, improving stability while making a dramatic, stylish statement. To further improve the visuals, the kidney grilles are also blacked-out.

Inside the car you get Aluminum Pedal Kit that includes gas pedal, brake pedal, and footrest pedal, ergonomically crafted of aluminum with rubber inserts. The most unique feature of the package however is the race-inspired multifunction steering wheel featuring flat bottom and covered in hand-stitched Alcantara material.

None of these items are available for the M models, mainly becasue they come with better stuff as standard!
