Naturally Aspirated V8 For New Mercedes SLK55 AMG

Apparently Mercedes SLK55 will never get a full-fledged AMG engine! Just like the old SLK55 which got a naturally aspirated version of the magnificent supercharged V8, the new one too will get a naturally aspirated version of the brand-new 5.5 liter Bi-Turbo V8 that powers the new series of AMG cars.

The 2011 Mercedes SLK55 AMG will be revealed at the next Frankfurt Motor Show and will have around 420 hp, which is better than the 355 hp of the last model, but significantly less than the 522 hp of the full-fat biturbo V8. Maybe Mercedes thinks the SLK being smaller doesn’t really need that much power. And you have to say, given the size of the SLK it probably doesn’t!

The new Mercedes SLK55 AMG will also feature a cylinder cut-off system for better fuel efficiency.
