Now that the Overfinch is gone, sort of, you might think that you can no longer buy a super-lux Range Rover but you’d be wrong! Behold the magnificence of the Range Rover Autobiography Ultimate Edition set for debut at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show.
Autobiography Rangies have always been incredibly luxurious, but this ultimate edition really takes it to the next level. The attention to details in this car is just mind-blowing.
Being based on the 2011 Range Rover the car is not the prettiest Rangie ever built, but this version comes with its own unique styling details that make it really cool. It gets two unique exterior colours, either Roussillon Red or Otago Stone (some markets also get the Santorini Black) with body coloured door handles, dark atlas radiator grille and side vents to create a sophisticated finish. The wheels on this special edition RR are the 20″ multi-spoke diamond-turned alloy.
Of course with such a high-end car you need a high-end engine, and the 500+ hp supercharged V8 is up to the job. But you can also get the car with the refined TDV8 Diesel engine with a new eight-speed transmission incorporating Drive Select with Paddle Shift as standard. At 313 PS and 700 Nm of torque it is fairly powerful while returning an incredible 30 MPG. Given today’s fuel prices, this engine just makes a lot of sense.
The Autobiography Ultimate Edition is all about the interior. Here they’ve gone for the same style as the last Overfinch RR and replaced the middle seat at the back with an exquisite mini-bar and a refrigerator. The rear passengers are really in for a treat because they also get machined aluminium laptop table and drinks chiller, and two Apple iPads as standard.
They’ve literally turned the Range Rover into a road yacht with this edition since the rear load space is covered in teak floor with metal and leather detailing! Other highlights of the interior include high-end semi-aniline leather seating and Oxford leather on the door casings, dashboard top and steering wheel. Kalahari wood veneers are used on the facia and door top rolls and unique interior colourways of either dark cherry or Arabica are available.
Prices differ from market to market, but the base would be in the neighborhood of 130,000 GBP.
