American Mercedes specialist RENNtech has come up with a new version of their GLK350 Hybrid Pikes Peak Rally Car first shown at the 2008 SEMA Show. The 2011 version is completely revamped and restyled.
This amazing car will embark on a US tour throughout the year and then will retire to a special place in the MercedesBenz Classic Vehicle Museum located in Irvine, CA.
This one-off vehicle has an awesome Pikes Peak body kit developed with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software. They’ve wrapped the body in combination of brushed steel (1080-BR201) and black carbon fiber (1080 CF-12) with subtle red pin stripping foil and then garnished it with bespoke graphics from 3M Commercial Graphics Division.
The GLK350 Pikes Peak Project will be unveiled to the public during Mercedes-Benz first leg of their tour schedule at the Pittsburgh International Automotive Show February 10-13th, 2011. Additional stops on the tour schedule include Milwaukee, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Kansas City, Minneapolis and Denver. This car will be the second RENNtech Mercedes to make its way to the museum after the E60 RS project car built for Jerry Sienfield.
