CNG is kinda like E85 in terms of emissions. It is a fossil fuel but it makes much less CO2 than petrol or diesel. Now some dude in America thought it’s a good idea to convert his Mercedes SL600 to run on natural gas!

And based on the results, you have to say it is. This car prepared by Speedriven now produces around 800 bhp and 1345 Nm of torque. That’s a whole lot more than what the standard V12 biturbo engine of the Merc could manage. With a bit more tweaks and moving stuff around, they hope to break the world speed record for CNG powered cars.

They think it can do 240 mph. The quarter mile time for this gas-powered monster is 10 seconds. They are aiming at the record currently held by Hohenester Audi S4 that has recorded 226 mph.
