Usually it’s Britain where all the special editions of all the good hatchbacks end up, but this time Volvo released one for Italy.

Hatchbacks sell like hot cake in Italy and nearly all manufacturers are present, so to stand out there Volvo had to come up with something really good. And the C30 Black Design seems to be up to the job.

Limited to 600 units only, the C30 Black features a two-tone body color. Those black bits are actually carbon-look film and you find it on the roof, all pillars, side mirrors and even grille surrounds. It also gets 17-inch matt-black alloy wheels. The car also comes with an exclusive interior trim and some Black Design badges.

The car is available in three colors – white, grey or orange – and three engines including two diesels (113 and 148bhp) and one petrol (143 bhp). No word on pricing yet.
