These days there are rumors flying around that Mercedes is going to gradually kill off the superb G55 AMG. That’s sad, but now another rumors surfaces suggesting they are developing a V12-powered G65 AMG.

Now this warms the cockles of your heart! Although, we can’t be sure until Mercedes comments on the case. Given the current fuel prices and the ongoing efforts to downsize engines and lower fuel consumption, it hardly makes any sense for Mercedes to do such a thing. But It could be a limited edition.

Mercedes AMG have done this before and made a couple of V12-powered G-Wagens, but they were bespoke one-off models built to order. Just like those cars, the G65 AMG, if there’s such a thing in the pipelines, will get the old but still brilliant 612 PS 6.0 liter Biturbo V12. Sources are also suggesting the car could sport a price tag of over 220,000 euros.
