Boasting its electric drivetrain to the max, Nissan LEAF takes a direct hit at its main competitor Chevrolet Volt in this new commercial. Everything in this ad is of course too exaggerated, but that kinda makes it memorable. It focuses on the disadvantages of gas-powered cars. The thing is, they are still more tolerable than the disadvantages of electric cars, for example charging them every 100 something miles, or very poor performance! We think Chevy Volt looks better and also works better in real life thanks to its range extender.
With a price tag 40K plus against the LEAF
$40k versus $20k? WTF, troll!!!!
Volt, MSRP $40,200
Leaf, MSRP $33,720
Not close to the $20k you framed it as, and they both qualify for the same tax credit.
Leaf is great if you want to putt around locally or go to work (Even better if work has power) but the Volt can go F****ing cross country dim wad w/o worrying about where the next grid connection is .
That is ITS selling point.
Lemme guess, public schools right???
20k is the price tag AFTER rebates, if you’re going to be fair, then the Volt is 30k plus after rebates as well. The LEAF isn’t for everyone, especially for those who travel a lot.
With a price tag 40K plus against the LEAF’s 20K plus, where’s the competition you’re talking my friend? LEAF has no competition. Period.
