Evo got hold of a RHD BMW 1-Series M Coupe and immediately headed to some twisty roads to see what’s what. This new baby M is ought to be the modern-day E30 M3, offering the same outstanding raw performance. It manages to do so, and then some. In many ways, the 1M excels by getting back to basics. It’s got a six-cylinder engine, not a a heavy and complicated V8, and it’s got a manual gearbox, not a stupid paddle shifter. There are rumors though that it will die by the end of 2011. How hope they are not true.
