Audi also unveiled the new S5 range, the sportier version of the 2012 A5, which also comes as coupe, cabriolet, and sportback.

The 2012 Audi S5 features the same visual upgrades as the A5, but it gets a few extra visual tweaks to be distinguished. The S Line treatments include new lights, modified body details and new crystal-effect paint finishes. Subtle changes can also be found in the interior. We particularly liked the magnificent bucket seats which are supportive and comfortable.

The most important technical updates for the Audi S5 are quattro drive with the crown-gear center differential and electromechanical power steering. The special S sport suspension and the standard 18-inch wheels deliver the power to the road.

Unfortunately though, the 4.2 liter V8 engine of the previous S5 has been replaced with a the 3.0 TFSI V6, rated at 245 kW (333 hp). Averaging 8.1 liters (29.04 US mpg), the new engine is 20 percent more fuel efficient than the V8. It is still pretty sprightly though, with 0 to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in just 4.9 seconds.
